Programs and Activities provided By DDRC:- Ahmedabad

Activities of DDRRC shall be designed in such a way so as to provide rehabilitation services to all type of Disabilities viz. Orthopedically Handicapped, Hearing Impaired, Mentally Retarded, Visually Impaired and Multiple Handicapped. The following rehabilitation services shall be made available at the DDRRC:-

  • Facilitation of provision of Disability Certificates and (UDID) Disability Identity Cards
  • Assessment on the need of assistive devices.
  • Provision/Fitment of assistive devices.
  • Follow up/repair of assistive devices.
  • Therapeutic services (OT, PT etc.)
  • Promotion of barrier free environment in collaboration with concerned district authorities.
  • Organizing and conducting awareness programs on prevention of disabilities.
  • Conducting rural camps and programs for early identification and intervention including fitment services.
  • Providing orientation training to teachers, community and families.
  • Providing training to persons with disabilities for early motivation and early stimulation for education, vocational training employment.
  • Identifying suitable vocations for persons with disabilities keeping in view local resources, designing and providing vocational training, identifying suitable jobs, so as to make them economically independent.
  • Providing referral services to existing educational, training and vocational institutions.
  • Organizing Training activities at District Level for existing centres.
  • Provision of survey modules for screening all the children in school for identifying high-risk cases.
  • Providing Training in rural crafts.
  • Organization and coordination of service camps.
  • Promotion of Inclusive Education.
  • Conduct non-formal education programs.
  • Organization of sports and cultural activities for disabled.
  • Marketing of products manufactured by persons with disabilities.
  • Diagnostic Camp on Taluka level for Survey & Identification with disabilities through camp Approach.
  • Referral Services for person with Disability.
  • Promotion of barrier free environment
  • To provide supportive & complimentary Services to promote education, Vocational training & Employment for persons with disabilities.
